LPS was used to stimulate BEAS-2-B cells, causing the generation of nitric oxide (NO) and other reactive oxygen species (ROS) that had led to cellular apoptosis. The levels of NO and ROS were detected by, Griess reagent kit and dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (DCFH-DA) respectively, whereas, cell apoptosis was studied by Annexin V-FITC and PI staining. The findings revealed that rutin-loaded LCNs significantly reduced NO, ROS levels and prevented apoptosis in BEAS-2B cells. The observations and findings provide a mechanistic understanding of the effectiveness of rutin-loaded LCNs in protecting the bronchial cells against airway inflammation, thus possessing a promising therapeutic option for the management of airway diseases.]]> Wed 14 Dec 2022 15:27:26 AEDT ]]> Rutin-loaded liquid crystalline nanoparticles attenuate oxidative stress in bronchial epithelial cells: A PCR validation https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:53640 Wed 13 Dec 2023 10:34:07 AEDT ]]> Functional programming of the autonomic nervous system by early life immune exposure: implications for anxiety https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:15023 Wed 11 Apr 2018 16:31:59 AEST ]]> CD117⁺ dendritic and mast cells are dependent on RasGRP4 to function as accessory cells for optimal natural killer cell-mediated responses to lipopolysaccharide https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28037 Wed 11 Apr 2018 14:45:02 AEST ]]> Recruitment of hypothalamic orexin neurons after formalin injections in adult male rats exposed to a neonatal immune challenge https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:27445 Wed 11 Apr 2018 12:10:23 AEST ]]> Molecular characterization of lipopolysaccharide binding to human α-1-acid glycoprotein https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:17083 a, Rd and Re rough LPS mutants. The SAR analysis enabled by the binding data suggested that, in addition to the important role played by the lipid A and core components of LPS, it is predominately the unique species- and strain-specific carbohydrate structure of the O-antigen polysaccharide that largely determines the binding affinity for AGP. Together, these data are consistent with the role of AGP in the binding and transport of LPS in plasma during acute-phase inflammatory responses to invading Gram-negative bacteria.]]> Wed 11 Apr 2018 11:39:50 AEST ]]> Neonatal immune activation depletes the ovarian follicle reserve and alters ovarian acute inflammatory mediators in neonatal rats https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:33905 Tnfa, mitogen-activated protein kinase 8 (Mapk8/Jnk1), and growth differentiation factor 9 (Gdf9) (P < 0.05). Mass spectrometry and cell signaling pathway analysis indicated upregulation of cellular pathways associated with acute phase signaling, and cellular survival and assembly. Apoptosis assessed by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling indicated significantly increased positive staining in the ovaries of LPS-treated neonates. These findings suggest that increased proinflammatory signaling within the neonatal ovary may be responsible for the LPS-induced depletion of the primordial follicle pool. These findings also have implications for female reproductive health, as the ovarian reserve is a major determinate of female reproductive longevity.]]> Wed 09 Feb 2022 15:58:52 AEDT ]]> Investigating the effects of inflammation on dopaminergic neurons in the lipopolysaccharide model of Parkinson’s disease https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37481 Thu 28 Jan 2021 17:32:55 AEDT ]]> Characterizing changes in the orexin system in models of neuropsychiatric disease https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:27474 Thu 13 Sep 2018 16:54:06 AEST ]]> Neonatal bacterial endotoxin challenge interacts with stress in the adult male rat to modify KLH specific antibody production but not KLH stimulated ex vivo cytokine release https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8145 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:36:07 AEDT ]]> Neonatal lipopolysaccharide and adult stress exposure predisposes rats to anxiety-like behaviour and blunted corticosterone responses: implications for the double-hit hypothesis https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:7899 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:35:11 AEDT ]]> Effects of chronic celecoxib on testicular function in normal and lipopolysaccharide-treated rats https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:7116 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:34:09 AEDT ]]> Prenatal endotoxin exposure alters behavioural pain responses to lipopolysaccharide in adult offspring https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:9880 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:12:48 AEDT ]]> Calorie restriction increases lipopolysaccharide-induced neuropeptide Y immunolabeling and reduces microglial cell area in the arcuate hypothalamic nucleus. https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:20260 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:59:55 AEDT ]]> Neonatal endotoxin exposure modifies the acoustic startle response and circulating levels of corticosterone in the adult rat but only following acute stress https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:5524 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:46:40 AEDT ]]> Factors in early life programming of reproductive fitness https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28879 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:40:30 AEDT ]]> Development of an experimental model for assessing the effects of cigarette smoke and virus infections on inflammatory responses to bacterial antigens https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28578 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:35:50 AEDT ]]> A combined cumulative threshold spectra and digital reconstruction analysis reveal structural alterations of microglia within the prefrontal cortex following low-dose LPS administration https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:22704 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:15:24 AEDT ]]> Cognitive deficits develop 1 month after diffuse brain injury and are exaggerated by microglia-associated reactivity to peripheral immune challenge https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24405 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:14:23 AEDT ]]> Perinatal programming of female subfertility: the impact of neonatal immune activation on behaviour, ovarian development, and the brain https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32841 Mon 23 Sep 2019 13:34:07 AEST ]]> Early life peripheral lipopolysaccharide challenge reprograms catecholaminergic neurons https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30987 Mon 20 Nov 2023 14:18:12 AEDT ]]> Surface changes and polymyxin interactions with a resistant strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:17366 Mon 15 Jan 2024 14:36:47 AEDT ]]> The medulla oblongata shows a sex-specific inflammatory response to systemic neonatal lipopolysaccharide https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:54764 Mon 11 Mar 2024 15:00:48 AEDT ]]> Peripheral inflammation induces long-term changes in tyrosine hydroxylase activation in the substantia nigra https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:49358 Fri 12 May 2023 12:35:29 AEST ]]> Astrocyte Responses to Complement Peptide C3a are Highly Context-Dependent https://novaprd-lb.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:51514 Fri 08 Sep 2023 12:03:44 AEST ]]>
